Business Analyst - GTM ORBIT Program
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the GTM ORBIT Program , a strategic data modernization initiative focused on transforming legacy geospatial and operational reporting platforms into a scalable, cloud-native data ecosystem.
The Business Analyst will bridge business and technical teams, working with stakeholders across Operations, Asset Integrity, Commercial, GIS, Compliance, Data, and Technology. The role will focus on requirements management, data quality, analytics enablement, governance, reporting modernization, and adoption of emerging AI and cloud capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and data requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process-mapping sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into functional/non-functional requirements, BRDs, user stories, use cases, and process flows.
- Support solution design reviews and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Data & Analytics
- Assess current-state data environments and identify modernization opportunities.
- Define data requirements for reporting, dashboards, analytics, and AI use cases.
- Support migration from legacy platforms to cloud-based data platforms and data lakes.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to develop trusted data products.
- Establish reporting standards and KPI definitions.
Data Governance & Quality
- Support data governance, metadata, data ownership, and stewardship initiatives.
- Identify and help resolve data quality issues.
- Define data validation rules, controls, lineage, and business requirements.
- Promote data accuracy, accountability, and consistency across enterprise platforms.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
- Collaborate with GTM Data & Decision Support, GIS, Asset Integrity, Operations, Commercial, Compliance, Enterprise Analytics, and Technology & Infrastructure Services (TIS) .
- Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to project leadership and sponsors.
Project Delivery
- Support Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Assist with backlog management, prioritization, and sprint planning.
- Participate in SIT, UAT, and business validation activities.
- Support change management, training, and user adoption.
- Track benefits realization and business value metrics.
Strategy & Innovation
- Evaluate opportunities involving: Cloud and Data Lake platforms
- Cloud Analytics
- GIS Data Management
- AI/ML
- Power BI and Self-Service Analytics
Contribute to future-state roadmaps and architecture planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Geography/GIS , or a related field.
- 5+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting large-scale technology, data, or transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting complex business and data requirements.
- Solid understanding of data management, analytics, reporting, and data modernization .
- Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions.
- Knowledge of Agile, SDLC, and project delivery methodologies .
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams in a complex enterprise environment.
